I want a good book on the C96 Mauser Pistol
Been looking, finding some titles but not sure they are what I'm after. The two biggest were both printed in the late 60's and it's said the picture quality isn't the best.
THE MAUSER SELF-LOADING PISTOL By James Belford and Jack Dunlap
System Mauser: A Pictorial History of the Model 1896 Self-Loading Pistol
Then the more recent:
The ‘Broomhandle’ Mauser by Jonathan Ferguson
And the ridiculously expensive
Broomhandle Pistol 1896-1936 by Wayne R. Erickson (not getting this one)
One I have:
Know Your Broomhandle Mausers by Robert J. Berger
So which one is the best and why if you know. I guess I'm looking for one that has good descriptions of the models, production numbers, etc Good photos preferably showing markings etc with explanations. I know the records were lost so this isn't going to be set in stone.
I got a Bolo 30's commercial off Mike last weekend which has fired my curiosity. One of the roughest guns I have but filled a big hole in my wanted list.
