Hi, just wondering if anyone knows how best to go about importing a Section 7.1 pistol from Canada into the UK? I am assuming that I will need to use an agent so any suggestions on who to use would be great. Would they be an agent in Canada or the UK. If Canada then no doubt would be easier on the Canadian vendor and I can leave it with the agent in Canada to sort the paperwork. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
I would assume you would require a licenced dealer in Canada and a receiving Section 5 dealer in the UK.
I'm assuming it it will then require UK proof, unless it already has valid CIP proofing.
Section 7.1 means it can't be shot/fired so presume it wouldn't require proof?Quote:

There is also a 7.1 pistol in the US, slightly more money but maybe slightly easier to export to the UK. Will make some enquiries tomorrow. There is a US agent who can deal with the export. VAT is only 5% given the age so will need confirmation with the paperwork confirming it’s over 100 years old.

A firearm has to be in proof, if it's licenced and being sold by a dealer.
You can do a personal import, if you do the documentation yourself without the need to proof on a Section 1 firearm, but I don't know the requirements on Section 7.
I'm assuming it can't be personally imported as it's not Sec1....
I 'assume' it has to go to a Sec5 dealer in the UK, then to proof, if it hasn't got valid UK or CIP proof.
Crazy I know.... I might be wrong, perhaps Sec7.1 is except from proof???

I'm thinking he needs to contact the witches or black magic that handle these "Proofs" to clarify... The USA exporter sounds like the easy part.
