First two clips are obviously Winchester, early one has the notches cut-out and a different web pattern from the later clip. When did Winchester change the design ? (guess 1942 ?)

I have 2 x B R W 3, 2 x B R W 1 who makes these ones RCS they all have notches like yours pictured are they early types. TIA
**Note that most WW2 produced clips were used on post war production ammo as many were excess at the end of WWII or were reused by depots. IS coded clips are a good example as they were only produced in WW2 but in such quantity that the Ordnance Dept. used them through the 1950s until supply was exhausted.

One sidenote here is China is producing clips in many different maker marks. I had occasion to find a box of "DAQ" clips which should have been made right here in Canada but they didn't hold or fit ammo correctly. Further investigation showed they had just been imported from Asia and didn't meet spec. No wonder they were new. Others are a grey finish and have little spring to them. Same thing there.
I did receive my early 0 marked clip from Scott Duff some years ago, Duff stated it was a Springfield clip ?
Problem with the early clips (except Winchester which are marked WRA) is there is a lack of documentation
RCS... I would say that your third clip (unmarked) in the photo of three clips is an early Springfield Armory clip. It has all of the early features, plus being unmarked. Until Winchester made clips and rifles, the early production at SA carried no manufacturer code as they were the only manufacturer. Early clips were not Parkerized, they were blackened by the oil quench in heat treat. Clips were recovered at ranges and reused, many were Parkerized prior to re-use.
Tom, I would agree with you on the un-marked clip being Springfield.

Never saw a Canadian clip marked DA. DAQ was used by Dominion Arsenals Canada.
