Wot no safety net?
It was said in jest because, from what I've seen from documentaries, UK assault courses appear to now have "safety-nets" installed, where they didn't previously, if there is a risk from falling from a significant height. Obviously I don't know if this is the case with all UK assault courses or just some.
I get you...the heights vary but usually obstacle courses aren't so high. A confidence course is different, they are built high to instill confidence that you can trust your own capabilities. Obstacles are used to cover approaches and are also covered by fire...musketry...
