Gentlemen,
I'd appreciate opinions on the mounting bracket in the attached photos.
Real or fake?
Thanks,

Appears to be an "Antiqued" repro
I bought it recently from a forum member who has sold me some authentic No4 (T) items in the past.
I'd like to be sure before telling him that he and I were duped.
That is a hard one to call..
It does have a couple of the features of the repro that looks like someone did a number on with a file and the number stamp on it to make it look like the real thing.
It has no staking on the screws but the line on the top of the web in picture 3 is consistent with the repro's and NOT the originals.
I'll check out the knurling on the thumb screws as I have both repro and most of the types of knurling on the original thumb screws.
Thanks for the opinions. Does anybody have a contrary one--could it be legit?
I'll even be happy with a DRP mount, it's not wartime, but it's made to standard.
Thanks,
Trog
An experienced collector, not the seller, has suggested it could be an early Dalgeish.
Can anybody compare it to one of their own? Thoughts?
I want to know what I have before putting it on to a rfile. A junk repro won't hold zero for me, I'd hate to waste the time it will take for me to figure out I have junk.
OTOH, if it's legit, I can finally stop looking for scope mounting brackets.
They all had to be fitted. Seldom do they just drop on perfectly although it does happen once in a blue moon. My guess is the one pictured is an aged repro but could be wrong. Why not just fit it properly? I can at least say it's not a Chinese made Sarco or GPC repro.
