WTS: RARE gun books - Martini, M1903, M1, etc.

Thinning through the “herd” of gun books – either ones I have duplicates or don’t use anymore. Most of these are VERY rare. Conditions are described as fairly as possible. Price doesn’t include postage or insurance (I highly recommend it!).

1) “Springfield Model 1903 Service Rifle Production and Alteration, 1905-1910” by C.S. Ferris and John Beard. This is the ultimate book that goes into great detail on the early production M1903s and explains the rather complicated “road” Springfield took. VERY hard to come by. 66 page paperback and very informative. Near new, $100.00

2) “A Collector’s Guide to the ’03 Springfield” by Bruce Canfield”. SPF

3) “Bruce Canfield’s Complete Guide to the M1 Garand and M1 Carbine”. SPF

4) “The History of Marine Corps Competitive Marksmanship” by Maj. Robert Barde, USMC. A 2019 paperbacked reprint of the 1960s book. A year-by-year rundown of the UMC rifle teams from the early 20th Century. Both U.S. and international matches, vintage shooting positions, use of the Krag, 1903 and Garand, and many other features. New, $13.99.

5) “Misfire: The History of How America’s Small Arms Have Failed Our Military”, by William Hallahan. An extremely controversial book when it was published – the author takes aim (and I think that is proper) at nearly all the weapons produced for our military in the last 200 years. While you may not agree, you’ll find it stimulating reading. Ex-near new, $40.00

6) “A Treatise on the British Military Martini: The Martini-Henry 1869-C1900” by Ian Skennerton. A VERY detailed look at the development of the British Martini-Henry rifle, which served British and Empire forces for half a century ( most prominent in the 1964 movie “Zulu”). History, variations development and production. Oversized, 246 pp. Near new, $65.00

7) “A Treatise on the British Military Martini: Manufacture, Training Arms & Accessories” by Ian Skennerton. Same size and format as #8 above. Many rare accessories are discussed and illustrated, as well as rare variations. VERY rare!! Near new, $150.00
