Ukraine: How do you counter the threat of a drone strike?

I assume the best way would be to interrupt the command signals; however I have no clue if that is possible!
When the V1 flying bomb first appeared in WW2 my grandfather said that the best way of countering them would be to find a way to "interfere" with the gyroscope controlling them and send them back to the Germans. He was a qualified electrical engineer and also in the Home Guard and an Air Raid Warden. When shown the gyroscope out of a V1 flying bomb he was able to explain, in detail, how it worked in keeping control of the flying bomb, despite never having seen one before.
If he was alive today I assume that he would say something similar about drones, find a way of taking control of it and then use it against your enemy.
The reality is, drones are manufactured in a variety of frequencies ranging from 900 MHz to 5.8GHz, in the CIVILIAN market place. All are capable of being jammed but you have to have sight of the drone to be able to target its link directly with the user.
The Military have by their very nature over many years had their own designated frequencies to operate on, and the reason why they reclaim many of them from the public market.
There are ways of jamming drones other then a one to one device, such as swamping an area with a very high power transmitter, but this causes more problems then its worth especially near microwave systems used in hospitals, airports and the like.
The V1 was defeated by agents in Germany giving wrong coordinates so that effectively London had moved in land by miles!!
It's an interesting one, considering the great faith that's about to be put into loyal Wingmen drones to make up the numbers in the RAF and other Airforces, you can only hope they will be extremely robust in regards to control!
