Norton supplied a lot of motorcycles to the British military in WWII. However, because of the steering damper knob and the speedometer shape and mount my best guess would be BSA M20. It had a 500cc long stroke side valve engine that produced good low end torque. Excellent machine, great picture.
I suppose the gun mount would have been practical if you were a former member of a motorcycle display/acrobatics team. ;)
From the photo it looks like it may have been some sort of "special butt-less" version of the Thompson aimed and fired with the soldier's face. :lol:Quote:
