Long Branch with Savage parts question

I picked up 2 enfields today,
1) An Iraq marked BSA 1939 no3 numbers except bolt match, has an Iraqi unit stock disc. Will post more later.
2) A #'s matching Long Branch 1944.

Both were dirty, some surface rust and needed some work but the right price.

The numbers on the Long Branch match receiver, magazine and wood. The sight is the classic Savage 300/600 flip which I believe are sometimes found on these rifles. But once I got it apart with wood pictured below is also Savage marked. It also seems to have a Canadian acceptance mark and what looks like a Greek acceptance (maltese cross)? No FTR or other marks. Wanted peoples thoughts.

You can type "maltese cross" in the search field, and you'll get a few results. I do know the maltese cross was applied to Long Branch No 4 T's to signify non-standard parts, such as Savage produced rear sights and stocks. I am not versed in Long Branch rifles, but I thought the cross only applied to parts assembled onto LB produced 4T's. I just looked through Skennertons "The broad arrow" and this indication meant "fitted parts not meant to be separated. Also non-standard parts as seen with Savage parts fitted to Canadian No 4T rifles."
Perhaps some Canadian members can elaborate on this.

What serial number on the Long Branch forend?

Parts were back and forth between Savage and Longbranch on a continual basis

The Maltese cross was for none standard and usually associated with modifications for sniper or other armoury official modifications.
You will find it on wood and the rear sight that was bobbed for the scope mounting on the (T)
