I finally got an SA/GHS. I've tried for years and never have been able to afford one. This one is correct, not original and I was hoping for your thoughts on my new family member. There is no rear sight seal. 6-41 barrel and not LL. I think I got a great deal too.

Yes, I meant front sight seal, my bad. The seller said he used some parts he had to make it correct so, I don't think its original. What I got it for I'm ok with correct not original. The gas cylinder seems too pretty to be on an 82 year old rifle. Gas lock screw looks kinda new too.
Those are pretty easy to refinish to new standard, as long as they're serviceable. You'd have to gauge it to find that out.Quote:

Hahaha! I do live in Wyoming. We're not feeling so lucky this year. Snow has been on the ground since early December. It usually melts then comes back. Getting this one was part luck(knowing where to look) and part patience(many times there's nothing there when I do look)but I am pleased with it.
