Parker Hale, Franken gun
A few months ago I found a mint bore Parker Hale barrel down at Sarcos. Last week I hooked up a belt sander to the lathe and refinished the barrel, cut an 11 degree crown lapped the bore and rechambered it 0.0025" over go. I mounted up to a German 98 (1915 vintage) receiver. Then I got thinking the last time I built a gun similar to this I used the same barrel config. on a commercial P/H receiver and stuck it in a fat wood Richards stock. It shot many group under 1" using South African ammo. So I thought I'd try something totally different, I'd build an aluminum frame suspension style mounting system and then add the wood where needed. I just finished the skeleton. I'll post more pics when completed. Hopefully I'll get into the sub-minute with this one, heck I might even try match ammo this time-SDH

I'm finishing up the basic's and starting to think I might want to put on a Schutzen style hook on it, if I can find one. For the mean time I'm going to make a simple adjustable arrangement. I made an adjustable cheek piece that comes down the drivers side to act as a lower support, but, it's butt ugly. I might cut it down for the sake of keeping the lines nicer. I'll be posting soon-SDH
