Note the grenade, when REAL grenades were yellow...
Yes, they were yellow; so were bombs etc. The camouflage implications of this for large ordnance dumps caused the change to O.D. with yellow markings. Naturally large stocks of the old ones had to be used up first.
We see that with the first pics of the Pacific campaign and troops using yellow frag.Quote:
