Just finished episode one of the MOH recipients on Sylvester Antolak in Italy May 1944 all I can say is watch it and believe you me it touched a chord.
I understand that most MOH's are given out posthumously this one is no different but what he went through to secure the defeat of the enemy MG posts defies belief.
It was pretty sad seeing his mother receive the MOH from the President placing it around her neck when she did not speak a word of english being Polish.
They said that on the farm when the service personnel came to break the news of her sons death she had to go into the paddock on their farm to get one of her sons who spoke english how utterly sad of a scene that would have been.
RIP.
Postscript ~ the dam thing wont let me edit the title chaps I mean no disrespect having the OH in lower case tried 5 times in advanced settings to edit it!
