Recommended spare parts
Noobie here. I finally bought a dreaded black rifle. I am a 30 cal guy gone bad. Now that I have this rifle....and love it.... I need advice on what springs and other bits and pieces to keep on hand to keep her in top form. I have a RRA NM A2....very accurate rifle right out of the box!!!! TIA for all comments and advice!!! :beerchug:

Spare assembled BCG & bolt, spare extractor/ejector/spring set..spare buffer retaining pin/spring.....spare firing pin..lots of spare firing pin retaining pins...spare trigger/hammer springs....even a spare gas tube and gas tube pin, plus required drift pin/roll pin tools..the best you can afford since there are lots crap tools on the market that don't really work.
The Samson Field Survival kit that stashes in the grip is a very good start.
And yes, I am paranoid to suggest all the spare stuff I did.
But as backed up as suppliers are...you may actually get the parts you need when they break..if you ORDER THEM NOW waay in advance before you need them.

This is only kinda related to your question. If you ever take it a part leave the front pivot pin in the receiver. It has a spring loaded detent that is a nightmare to reinstall with out the 5.00 buck tool that holds it in.yea I know some guys do it with a single edge razer blade, but after it shoots across the room a few times you may be tempted to cut your wrists !Dont ask how I figured this one out.

I suggest a complete lower parts kit, bolt with rings, extracor, ejector and firing pin. That should do you.
Steve, I use an allen wrench that will just go threw the hole. The flat side of the wrench helps a lot. Push the take down pin in as you back the allen wrench out. Works every time and no detent zinging across the room or in an eye.

Bill, the allen wrench suggestion is a good one. I have used a spare front pivot pin for years for the same purpose, but your idea is better.
The only parts I've ever actually replaced on any of my several rifles were the gas rings for the bolt and a firing pin that got erroded by a pierced primer. I have needed extra detent pins during when assembling a rifle from scratch, due to my fumble fingers, but that's another issue. I would say add a complete lower parts kit, buffer spring, firing pin and FP retaining pin, and extractor & ejector assemblies, you'd be good to go for a long time. A complete spare bolt would be very nice also.
If you're excessively anal, a complete spare stock set.

Buffer spring, extractor spring and insert, gas rings (sets of 3) and gas tube are all wear parts that can be expected to wear out - get several of each, particularly if you are worried about future supplies. Spare Bolt assembly(headspaced to your barrel), all springs and detents, firing pin are also likely to be necessary if you use the rifle enough. Optional but nice are an extra bolt carrier assembly, charging handle and front sights do get bent sometimes. Again, think ahead to a time when parts might be difficult to get. CC
Tools are helpful, check out Specialized Armament Warehouse (aka SAW Sales) for best quality parts and tools - they are Colt's Law Enforcement (full auto) dealer, but will deal with the public. Be nice and somewhat patient, they are a busy shop. CC.
