Greetings All
A new to me transit chest arrived yesterday with manufacturer's marks I have never seen. The chest appears to have been partially stripped resulting in the hard-to-read markings being even harder but it appears to be "KML" over "1946".
Two photos are attached one original and one with a filter. Before anyone asks, yes it is a Canadian manufactured chest not just a Canadian property marked example. Hinges, carry strap and interior color/colour are all Canadian.
Any clues on KML??
Looks more like 1949 to me.
There is no KML in the book "The Concise Lineages of the Canadian Army 1855 to Date (1969)". The only thing close that I can think of is the Royal Military College at Kingston. Perhaps a mix of those abbreviations?

If it was just K________ M________ Ltd. there are a few other options, but we'd have to know what naming protocol was for these sorts of stamps: was reference made to "Co.", "Ltd.", "Inc." etc.?
