US Military Police Monadnock 36" Baton

I know virtually nothing about this other than it's supposed to be US MP issue.

Came from a local surplus shop that actually does get a lot of surplus. 23 inches closed; 36 inches open.

Correct use avoids hitting the head supposedly with legs and arms being primary targets.

I hate those things. Give me hickory or a non-collaspable side handle. Both have mass.

Correct theory. During ACP (aid to the civil power) training the shield was held up in front and the troops went under at the knees and shins.

By far the best, with the thong that goes over the back of the hand, not wrist. Almost indestructible.

Totally agree. I had to carry the PR-24 version when I was working patrol. I should actually say I carried it in the car, because that's where it always stayed. It was uncomfortable to carry on the belt and a pain to get to expand. The balance was horrible. My favorite was my LAPD PR-24. That baton ended more confrontations just by being drawn from its ring and it was very comfortable to wear.
