I have about three of the new ones but you don't see the old ones at all. They would have gone out as soon as the slotted flash hider replaced the prong flash hider, the eyes at top would have then been useless...except for retro builds.
I've one of these in my spares box...
I believe these early tools are not common to find. They will not fit the first type prong flash hider only the second type. I seem to recall there was a different tool for the type one prong flash hider - anyone recall ?
Yes, with three posts inside a circle. Here's a thread we had years ago showing pics that survived... Also I'll carry the pic here...

Thanks Jim for locating the photo and older posting. Really interesting tool for the advanced collector
I had an early tool, as I was building ARs back in the late 80s. Lent it to a friend, and never got it back. I still have the next generation one, which is identical, though without the three prong slots.
No. There were other items too.
BTW Innovative Industries sells these early 3 prong wrenches. They make exact copies of the 601 duck bill flash hiders that are so good, They have a small "II" stamp under the rear face that is covered by the lock washer. They also make an exact copy of the later three prong. I now have one on my XM16E1
