Yes, all of that. Yes and M14. Definitely not RVN. There are other pics here that make me certain it's the beginning with the M14 in Germany with the 2nd battle group, 6th inf HQ in Berlin. The ascot matches too.Quote:

When we wore helmets during training at the Officer's School, the instructors kicked and punished us immediately if we hadn't tightened the chin strap...
That educational method was of course transferred to the units later. And worked pretty fine.
