Remington 870 Express Model Shotgun Question
Have a Remington 870 Express model Magnum shotgun that was another former police department weapon. This one looks to have been a civilian sporter except for having an 18-inch "cylinder" marked riot gun barrel with bead front sight. The sporter style wood fore-end appears to have been trimmed back to a shorter tactical configuration.
My question is . . . Since this shotgun is the budget "EXPRESS" model Remington 870 with some cheaper grade parts, what would be the recommended components for replacement? Do know that this gun has the plastic trigger group. Is there any downside known to having a shotgun with "synthetic" parts over metal? Might there be a Remington 870 "upgrade" kit?
Since this is one of the Home Protection "Bump in the Night" scatter guns, we need to make sure that it will function okay if and when the time comes. :yikes:
Thanks in advance . . .
