The Reaper Calls
We were away up the Northwest for 8 days going to abandoned stations looking at early life in a harsh outback had a ball and learnt some interesting stuff and met a very eccentric person whom had amassed over 20 years from stations an armada of stuff to big to even write about.
However we learned when in mobile range at one point 3 days in our riding buddy had whilst riding at a race track slowly drifted off the track falling off deceased.
He has gone to Perth for autopsy but those of us who knew him realise that it was probably a heart attack, we had some times together now all the emotions of loss come back.
It's bl**dy sad as his wife is battling melanoma cancer now she has lost her main support I mean their children are there but it's not the same as your life partner.
Then today I get a text msg a shooting buddy of 19 years is in the ED as his heart stopped momentarily so he's up and away to Perth getting a pacemaker ! Jezus !!!
This bodes no good for me as it's flooded me with memories when I went down getting RFDS medivaced to Perth from my heart attack.
Then I get to thinking of my older brother, my sister, mum & dad it really has knocked the stuffing out of me and dampened our much looked forward to trip away.
Sorry for the bleat guys but some things trigger stuff..........?

Sorry for the loss of your friend and the bad news. I'll pray that your spirits rise a bit as you consider the good times.

So sorry for the bad news you received Cinders it appears we're at that point in life when things are starting to fall apart physically. I was told a week ago I'm getting a hip replacement, just completed all my pre-op check-ups and waiting to hear from the surgery scheduler.

Condolences. Take care of yourself, try and focus on you still being here. This is part of us being older, our friends are drifting off. I'm with you there...

Just lost two cousins who were brothers. Went within ten days of each other. Jim says it better than I can.

Thoughts and Prayers for all.
May working on some tank models make you think of other days.

None of us know how long we have which is probably a good thing.

On a lighter note, I played the Grim Reaper in a school play back in the '50's.
Was doing all right until I made my entrance onto the stage....tripped on my cassock, fell flat on my face and bent the cardboard blade on my scythe... hall burst into laughter and that was the end of my grand performance.
The moral to this snippet...smile and be happy

Death rates are rising steeply. Very sad, but as someone said about war and generals, health is too important to leave to the ______.
No one likes to consider the subject in all its implications, known or merely guessed at, but it's probably not something to leave to the last moments as when the time comes there may not be many. :ugh:
