Ammunition Part 2
I started a thread with the results of some very high quality surplus Winchester 174 Gr ball ammunition compared to Sellier & Bellot 180 gr FMJ. I reported at that time that both hit the point of aim at 200 yards with the battle sight and both hit the center of an SR target with a 6 O'clock hold.
I said at that time that I would see how Privi Partizan did with the same zero.
To make a long story short the Privi Partizan also hit point of aim with the battle sight at 200 yards. Like the others it hit the center of the SR target at 200 yards with a 6 O'Clock hold. The center of the group was just slightly higher but I have a notorious personal wandering zero from day to day so that was probably me. The groups of the Winchester and S&B both measured 6 1/2 inches at 200 yards on the SR bull. The Privi was slightly better at 5 3/4" Of course you can't really tell a lot from just one group of each.
So all of these are very accurate loads from my No.4 Mk2 Irish Contract Rifle and I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to show up at the range with any or all of them.
It is also very convenient that all seem to match the calibration of the sights for Mk VII ball.
By the way, the leaf sight was set for 450 yards for the grouping on the SR target, and as I said was kept on that for all three brands of ammo.
