S&W question

How would I go about finding the date of manufacture of a S&W Model 10. Is there some way of doing this with just the serial number? I don't want to spend the $50 for a S&W letter of authenticity. The serial number is c955600. Thanks in advance for any help.

That gun was made in 1967. Unlike some other makes, there are no publicly available records to get any closer to the actual date of manufacture.
