Like a lot of other folks I bought this powder cheap about 8 - 9 years ago. I used it for .223 and it worked quite well. I no longer load .223 and would like to find another use for it. I have heard that some folks use it in 8MM Mauser loads and I have data for .308 using 150 gr SP's but I hesitate using it in my M-1A. 2 questions:
1. Loads for 8MM?
2. Would you use it in .308 in an M-1A?

I also obtained that powder when it was available. I find it produces good results with .223.
I would not use it in either of the cartridges you list.
Accurate did not test a lot of cartridges with 2200. Most were low pressure but I have found that in the 223 and the 7.62x39 that before I could even get close to the max loads I was getting high pressure signs at least 10% below max which is where accurate has the starting loads. There are no loads listed for the 308 or the 8mm.
There is loading data listed on the AA website for .308 and many other rounds including 30-30, .35 Rem.and .458 Mag. I would not hesitate to use that data in a bolt gun but I am very hesitant to use it in a gas operated rifle. I was just wondering if anybody here had tried it.

Both the 308 and the 45-70 are new to the list of cartridges listed by accurate before. BUT I would suggest that anyone using this powder start low and work up from there. I have a feeling the pressure can spike very quickly. Accurate only made this powder available for a short time before it was discontinued. It is listed as slower then 1680 and faster then 2230.

The Accurate web site still has the listing for 2200 powder. It's in a group of discontinued powders listed by themselves. I think it was listed as DP2200. It is a surplus powder that was made for the 7.62x39 and discontinued by Accurate in 1999. hth
Have a bunch of 2230C that I got several years ago. Meters great, works great in a .308 bolt gun with 175SMK, a bit dirty though. Tried it in a .223 DPMS, works good but still a bit dirty. Just what was this powder made for, at one time it was rumored to be a rejected batch for Uncle Sugar. Just curious.
