dutch no32mk3 scope
look wat I ran in to looking for some martini parts.

the AI logo is from the dutch "artillerie inrichtingen" which was the dutch state arms manufacturer up to the seventies.
"kijker richt nr32 m3" translates to "scope aim no32 mk3"
anyone seen one before?
the downside: she had a second bell shape up front.. probably good for the light intake but takes away that nr32 look.

Congrat's on your find.
The history of the Dutch made Mk 3 scopes is unknown, at least to me. After the war they were outfitted with British kit and even made their own spike bayonets. An unknown quantity of the scopes were made, with yours being the highest s/n I have come across. I have yet to see one fitted to a mount let alone to a rifle.
On the bright side, Dutch made scope cans are unusually easy to find!

Strange that...................... I rebuilt one for someone a year or two ago and the OG end was identical to ours. In fact I used a complete set of matching No53 lenses to rebuild it. I seem to remember that even the thrads were BA too!

Yes, I saw one a few years ago at a Belgian show. The one I saw was identical to UK production. Never seen one with the objective end 'swell'. Oddly enough at the same show there was also an Italian No32 Mk2.

held her over a friends nr4 rifle.. it fits but it just doesnt look right.
buyers remorse.. if i dont get used to the end swell i'll probably dump her on fleabay and use the money for a martini or snider.

Why don't you just machine it to Mk3 length forward of the turret, thread that end and use a No42 OG lens and front shade. Time taken: 1 hour. Simplicity of job 1/10.

i'll rather leave it like it is.. as this is its original shape.
and a 1/10 job with 0.1/10 skills is a great recipe for disaster.

Just think Hopman............ As it is, value NIL, converted to correct Mk3 spec, albeit with Dutch Army markings, value £.. name your price!
