have you ever inletted a garand stock to accept a bm59 reciever?
the length of pull on the bm stock is a little less than a garand stock. i have an extra garand stock and thought it might be a nice project.

Other than the cut out for the magazine, what has to be done?..
Goo , I have a nice MT stock (1/2" Short version) that I have begun such a project on for a BM59E which is just a M1 Garand with a BM59 mag. The couple of E stocks that I have are rough and I wanted a nice stock,but a standard BM59 stock is too long, as it is somewhat the same as a garand.
You need to cut out for the magazine area ,as well as the bolt stop area.
That is pretty much it for a semi auto BM59. You would also need the inlet for the winter trigger also,if your trigger group has the winter trigger.
Mine does not , and they can be removed and replaced with a simple trigger pin from a M1/M14,if so desired .
The upside is you do not have the huge holes on the front right and left where the full auto selector and and connector go.

So far I have made only the bolt stop cut . I used a dremel and a small file to duplicate the area on the stock takeing my time and going slow .
For the mag cut out I was thinking of using a drill press and either a endmill or some carbide burr's .
I would be open to any ideas if anyone has any to share?
