I still shoot a significant amount of .308, mostly through Garands, but also through M1A rifles. I have a lot of AA2520 powder and would like to burn it up. I usually use 168gr bullets.

For AA2520 in the 308. Starting load of 40.5 gr. with 168 gr bullet for 2387 fps. Max load of 45 gr at 2712 fps. OAL at 2.800. (from the Accurate web site.) hth
this target was shot at 100 yds. using 2520 with a sierra 168 BTHP fed 210m primers out of my Savage 110. the target square is 2"x2". it is all i use in my .308 and M-1 .30/06.HTH

A buddy of mine (a Camp Perry veteran) calls AA2520 in the 308 "Camp Perry Powder".....

Problems with long range and 2520. Fine at 100 yards and 200 yards. Of course, the bullet is everything.
Great stuff for the 308. 39.5 AA2520 with 168 a tack driver at 100 - and reliably works the aciton of an M1A. No need to hammer your shoulder (42 gr. works very nice also). Cheaper than 4895 too. Have fun
I use 42.0 gr and 175gr Sierra Matchkings for my target load, My Win mod 70 will throw them all in one hole @ 100yds. 2550fps. For my hunting load, 44.0 gr w/ 165 Sierras BTSP. The open up to between .500- .750". 2740 fps Drops them in their tracks......:thup:
