Looking to buy that No32 'scope.........

Thanks Res. In fact it looks like the original rifle serial number of AK 5018 would make it a 1943 BSA. The bracket has been fettled up in the past - the cradle serial numbers have been re-done (the originals are rather smaller than the digits on yours), but that isn't such a big issue as many were so treated when they went through ordnance. The bracket looks original, as does the scope. Nice find.

I can confirm that. Once had one very close in number.

Can anyone tell me how to take apart a no.42 scope?
I have removed the two small screws in the front sleve and occular.

Now unscrew the ocular counter cell (the lens retaining ring) and pull out the two lenses plus the spacer

Then unscrew the OG brass ray shade and draw out the inner tube. Separate the OG lens from the inner tube

Unscrew the 4 screws and remove the locking segment from below. Push the erector cell FORWARDS until it comes out of the front/OG end

Both end is very tight. And i have tryed to unscrew them with great force without any luck.
do i have to head them to soften any cement or glue?
Ore do you have any ideas to unscrew them without damage them?

That's the problem and where 40 years of hands on hard learned experience come in JSNE.......

I face this problem every week and sometimes you end up spoiling something. If I was you I would VERY CAREFULLY play heat around the rim of the ocular lens counter cell. Too much will destroy the lens joining the lens parts together. When it is hot to the touch, press the serrated edge hard down into a leather pad to grip and then try rotating. Same as the OG end but you can wrap a leather band around the shade and grip it with suitable grips to unscrew.

But what do you want to strip it for?

the one I have is a converded weaver k3 ( you have seen it on a tread)
I got the no.42 on a weapon mess in germany for 80 euro
It is a 1944 canadian in werry good condition.
if I cant take it apart I maby sell it to someone who could use it for parts.

Those troubles aren't just restricted to you Jsne........... I have 5 assorted but very old and tired No32's here over Christmas. And EVERY one was jammed up solid, just like yours. Add to that sheared off turret screws and dented tubes and.............

The scope is taken apart with a little heat.
Everything wend fine exept one stupid thing!!
I expecded the ocular lenses too stock a little but it did not.
So I hope you can tell me the direction of the lenses?
I know the first and second lens to go inn in the ocular.
But not if the wide or narow direction go inn first.
