Belmont Ammunition is based in NZ, the ammo (if original to the box) is tracer brought by the RNZAF & then later purchased by Belmont who pulled the 174g projectiles & replaced them with 150g projectiles, they did NOT change anything else.

smellie, i would expect some damage to the fired case if the bolt failed, i would not expect it to look normal.

The 4th and 5th pics show the exact same failure as my SMLE suffered. I've had the rifle since 1996 and that little lug fell off on about the second time I cycled the bolt; I'd not even fired it at that time. I can't immagine how many rounds I've put through it since, but it's never been a problem.

I suppose this is the best place for these photos - has anyone ever come across Lee Metford or Long Lee forearms that where fitted with inlays along the barrel channel to reprofile them for the No 1 Mk I?
I came across this while cleaning a bubba'd forearm and hadn't remembered reading about this obviously arsenal-grade recycling trick.
