I've been shooting for almost 30 years. My preferences are shooting the Military arms from the 14th Century Hand Cannons to the 19th Century Trapdoor Springfields.
I have been looking into WW2 arms of late due to my Dad. He is still going great at 89 and is a big fan of the M1 Carbine from his service in the war.
Thanks for putting up all the folks from CSP and be patient with me as I learn the ropes on this new format/forum

I am new here and pretty much new to gun forums in general. I started my collection with a P14 on February 19th. I have found a wealth of information on the forums. I hope to add to my collection through the years and learn as much about the history of the rifles as I can.

I'm glad Jouster still has a home. It would be aweful to think that they were gone. I have been a collector since 1989. Spent 6 years in the Marine Corp. 1963-1969. Retired now. Checking Jouster at least 2-3 times a day. Especially in the winter months. New york is pretty cold. Hope everything works out o.k. with the new forum.

Hello everyone.
I'm a transplate from the CSP forums. I've been collecting W.W. II weapons since 1993 when I bought my first one (a 1903A3). I presently have examples of most weapons (except full auto) used by US, British, Russian and German forces during W.W. II.

I'm a CSP transplant also. Been shooting milsurps for over 40 years now. Mostly 1903 Springfields, but with an occasional Mauser and Krag thrown in. I also collect Savages- 99's, 1920's and pistols. Also into L.C.Smith shotguns in a big way. Oh, and did I mention Martini and Winchester single shots...

Hi All, I've been interested in firearms and shooting for over 50 years. I was lucky to have a friend who's father owned a gun shop, when I was a young man. Also my uncle owned a large farm; the perfect combo. Guns and a private place to shoot. I've fired alot of rareity's; I wish I still had them . But that's life. I still hope to learn a lot from this site, and maybe contribute some knowelge too. Never forget, we owe all we have, because of our military.

Just came over from CSP. I am a HP Rifle and BE Pistol competitor for over 50 years. Reloader out of necessity for both competition and plinking-jacketed and cast bullets. Modest collector of old military rifles that I shoot also. I also build and race model tether cars (not R/C!) that go upwards of 150mph (see www.amrca.com. Races are at Anderson, IN. I also am a long time builder and flyer of model airplanes

Hi, I'm new to your forum. Not much of a shooter, but my Army vet dad bought a 44 Willys with a scabard on the dash. I thought I'd find him a rifle to put in the scabard and wound up here!

New member here and new to collecting as well. 2 Mosin Nagant M91/30s and a pretty nice S#4Mk1 so far. I fired both mosins last weekend and therefore will have to give my shoulder about 2 wks off before I fire the Enfield. Looking forward to it though.

Greetings to all from Texas. I have been collecting firearms for about 20 years, but started with older military about 5 years ago. I currently have been picking up "military rifles with optics" primarily. My latest run has been for the USMC model M40 and M40A1's. Spent the last 5 years learning from a group of 03 experts on the CSP 1903 boards. I hope they also make the transition! Looking forward to helping where I can and learning more along the way. Hi Everyone. I'm still around and contribute once in a while. Been a member of CSP since the early days 1994 I think. Been a long time, but as Bodyman said we learned a lot from the early M1 collectors. I hope we can continue to learn about the M1 Garand. I still pick up tidbits now and than. I served in the US Army in the early 50's. I was with the 1st AD and we had the big gun 90mm. Only time I saw the Garand was in Fort Dix basic training. It came back to me in 1993 from the DCM as a 1944 Springfield. I still have that sucker along with many playmates.
I hope you enjoy the new CSP and the many friends you can make doing it.
Just registered. I have been competitive shooting for about 18 months. Started reloading about 12 months ago. I load 30.06, 308, 223. I'm now at the point of asking for some advice instead of just reading the posts on the old CSP site.
I have a pristine 03a3 that my father bought in the 40's I think. I began shooting high power with it, but now shoot my RRA A4. I also have a CMP Special from the first round, which I have been too busy to shoot. I could use some advice on lubrication.
Looking forward to new discussions and continuing the old ones.

I'm a recent refugee from the CSP forums (former i.d "lensbenz"), and am looking forward to actively participating in the new CSP section here.
I've been a WWI/WWII gun collector for about ten years, and have mainly focused on Model 1911/1911A1 pistols, though I have quite a few rifles and other handguns of the period as well.
I really enjoy learning more about the hobby and sharing knowledge where possible. I'm looking forward to seeing some old "faces" here, and will hopefully meet some new folks as well.

Hello! I have come from the CSP Forum. I am Jason from Florida. My main interest is the M1903 Springfield rifle. I now have 5 in my collection. I wanted to just get a few accessories to go with the rifle and that has grown into a huge collection of other arms, web gear, personal gear, uniforms and equipment! I have been trying to concentrate on US Army items Pre-WWII or pre- Pearl Harbor. I've got some neat things, even if they overlap into early WWII. My how the prices of such things have risen!
I hope to learn more about the M1903 Springfield while I am here and maybe acquire some other items for my collection. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Retired high school teacher, and US Army Vet . Someone ask why I collect military firearms? My reply, Because I am to poor to collect tanks, battleships and airplanes.
