Hello I am a new member an I am interested in learning more about M1 Carbines.
I have been lurking around the CSP forums for many years and hope that the new site continues to be my first stop in cyber space when I log on every evening. I am kind of old school and ain't really too interested unless it is blue steel and walnut. I am an avid reloader and shooter, but am a better reloader than shooter. Looking forward to gleaning more useful info from you guys.

:wave:I am new to the forums here. Came over from Jouster where I was an active, often daily reader and occasional contributor. I have collected and recreationally shoot, for about 15 years, primarily US arms of the 20th century, garands, M1917's and 1903A3's. I look forward to reading and learning from the new (to me) forums here along with continuing my association with the old Jouster group.
HI folks I have moved over from the old CSP form hsgl41 ( Henry Queener)
Long time "Lurker" on the CSP forum. You guys have been very helpful in helping me to flatten out my very steep learning curve re the M1's - Garands and Carbines - especially the Win's! My inventory now has 5 Garands - 2 SA's and 3 Win''s including a WIN-13 and 3 Win carbines. Keep the posts coming - there's a lot I don't know!
Hi, all. My name is Brian (Davis), I'm a recent refugee from Jouster/CSP.
Many thanks to Milsurps for giving the Major & the Missus a new home & a place for us all to gather. I look forward to seeing the old Jouster hands & also meeting a bunch of new folks from Milsurps.
Married (35 years), no kids, 4 cats. I enjoy the shooting sports & am a licensed amateur radio operator (KG9DU) (charter member of Jouster Signal Corps). Home QTH is Indianapolis, IN.
Everyone I've run into thus far has made me feel quite welcome & for that I thank you all.

Hi Everyone! Glad to be here. I collect WW1 and WW2 weapons. I have a complete collection of Allied and Axis main battle rifles from both wars. All have proper bayonets, slings, cleaning kits, helmets and ammo pouches.
This is the tip of the iceberg as I have the appropriate pistols that went with them and all are in NRA excellent conditon..ie: an unissued Inland M1A1, first 6 month production rifle or my unissued GEW98.
I'm a recently retired federal LEO and among other things was an armorer and firearms instructor with the bureau.
I could go on and on, but I'll cut it short by saying Howdy!
Collector for 20 plus years, live in North Alabama. EX-Navy.

Well, I made the jump from CSP. So mote it be. I've owned M1s, currently interested in S&W revolvers and 1911s. I probably won't be posting often but I do read the threads. I find that I learn more by listening than talking.

I am really looking forward to using the new forum. I have been a gun collector for more than 35 years, and have focused mostly on US and German WWII firearms and related items, helmets, medals, bayonets, etc. -for the last 15 years or so.
Been collecting for 15 years or so, have a decent collection, but always want more, and one can never know too much about old milsurps, so here I am

Hello all
I'm one of the new guys. I'm not really a collector, but I have accumulated a bit over the years, mostly milsurp. I own very few actual sporting guns. I've been known to be a mauser lover. Hope to have a great time learning more here.
Hi all,
Been around a long time--I've been interested in "Guns" all my life--starting w/ cap pistols. Joined the Army in 1959---to give you a time frame.
Hello from Texas. I'm an Old AF guy who grew up in the 60's hanging out in Army Navy stores in NJ. The cheap stuff I had as a kid is now worth some bucks. I'm a service rifle shooter and like the wood steel fell of the Garand/Carbine and the M14.
Cheers
Hello all,
Checking in here. Been lurking on the CSP Forum for years. I've been known to collect a Garand or two, and a few carbines, and .45s. I really miss the format of the CSP Forum. It was so easy to use. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the Culvers.
I'll post now and then if I have anything pertinent to add.
Al out.
Fogerty's on board. Talk to you later.

Just a quick Hello! Not much experience in Milsurps, but I will catchup :-)
Hi! I am a new Brit member and would to send a greeting to you colonials, enjoying yourselves in the good old USA. Just give us a thought when you are down the range with your automatic rifles and centre fire revolvers, lugers, wathers etc., while we have to be content with percussion revolvers and single shot full bore rifles.
As a microscopist [retired] and knowledgable about lenses and have a small manufacturing base , I can help with optical gunsight problems.
Currently I have a Win P14, Enfield Nos 4 Mk1 and a vey accurate Australian Army Spartco M44 I use for game shooting. The usual range of shot guns one tends to aquire and two percussion revolvers, bye for now.
I'm one of the Culver's refugees! Thanks for the host site.
Hey Guys,
I am new here. Just registered. Been collecting for the last 25 Years before that couldn't afford to collect anything because of raising kids. Now all the kids are grown and I am having the time of my life collecting WW2 1911a1's; M1 carbine's and a few lugers once in a while. If I can ever help anyone just drop me a line. Welcome home all you Viet Nam vets - Dont forget to thank a vet, he's the reason we can enjoy this hobby.
Yours in Collecting,
Tom (45TAA45)
Hi, new here from Glendale, Arizona. I'm a shooter / reloader for the last 35 years. Moved out to Arizona from Chicago 18 years, and many guns ago. Bill T.
Hello,
I'm new to this site. I am interested in surplus military weapons and uncovering the history of each one that I get. I am a small time collector and currently have about 30 weapons, about 50% surplus military, 30% rifles and shotguns from the 1930 - 1950 era and 20% modern day stuff.
I have a class 3 FFL and look forward to gaining some new insight from the knowledgeable folks here. The internet has opened up a whole new world to the collector and has a wealth of information. Thanks for letting me into your community.
Mike
Hello,
I am a new member who is particularly interested in collecting and shooting Springfield M1903A3, Colt M1911A1 and Enfield No4's. I specifically joined to find out more about the M1903A3 as they are very uncommon over here. I would like to build a repro M1903A4 on an original A3 and was wondering if any members have any direct experience with the M1D repro scope offered by Numrich and if they can be used with the no gunsmithing type mounts.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone willing to share they're experience.
Thanks
Just found the new site today. I'm a novice collector who sometimes makes a lucky find.
New here, came over since Culvers Shooting POst Closed.
If this works, I have made the move from CSP. Many will know me from postings there, but for others I offer a brief introduction.
I served in the Marine Corps 58/62, during which time I graduated from Small Arms Repair School, worked in depot level rebuild program refurbishing all small arms to near new condition. I was on the rifle team and pistol team representing my base (Barstow) in USMC championships, California State Championships, and other matches. I served as a marksmanship instructor between matches during that period. I was selected to become a RTE Gunsmith (Rifle Team Equipment) and became one of 26 men Corps wide that build match M1's & .45's, sniper rifles and various other precision weapons. Upon being reassigned overseas I served as an instructor in Small Arms Repair School on Okinawa.
After completing my enlistment I entered Law Enforcement, then moved on to employment in business operations. I continued to do gunsmithing on the side all those years. In 1970 I purchased a Sporting Goods Store in Delta, Colorado and expanded it into a full line gunshop with full gunsmithing operations. Initially I did all the gunsmithing, but as demand for that service grew I employed several graduates of the gunsmithing schools at Trinidad and at Denver.
I sold out the Sporting Goods store in 1983 and "retired" to Arkansas. I soon found it convenient and enjoyable to resume Service Rifle Competition and began working on rifles belonging to fellow shooters. That soon became a full time business and I outfitted a machine shop and a wood working shop to enable me to perform most all services "in house".
I have for many years machined my own barrels from blanks and carved my own stocks and handguards from planks. With these capabilities I offer many options of calibers, barrel lengths, stock configurations, wood selection, etc. in building fine custom M1 and M14 type rifles. I do my own parkerizing and make several special components for various purposes.
I build very neat, reliable, and accurate "Tanker" rifles, do "Scout" scope installations, and convert M1's to use M14 magazines.
I have enough acreage to have a 200 yard range out back for testing, practice, and pursuit of my own pleasure. I test fire each rifle at least 16 rounds on the range to ensure proper function, and to test the accuracy of match grade rifles.
My work is almost exclusively dedicated to M1 and M14 type rifles although I do also offer limited services on carbines, .45's, and '03's.
I have a large body of printed information and photos that I am working toward making available on a CD and will announce its availability here when ready to ship.
Hello to all !
I am a collector of U.S. military arms, uniforms and equipment.
I bought my first rifle fifty six years ago (at age 15)when I was too young to legally own one. I had my heart set on buying a Civil War musket that cost $35.00. But I could only come up with $15.00. So I had to be satisfied with a 45/70 rifle w/a four digit s/n + 100 rds. of 45/70-500 ctgs. in tinned cases that came out of a 1000 rd. crate the dealer had gotten from Bannermans. I sure wish I still owned that rifle( and still had those cartridges too)!
I used to be a reenactor till I got too old. I've done ''War of 1812'' at FT. Meigs in Ohio., Civil War with the NSSA in 50's & 60'S (C.W. centenial), Indian Wars (late 60's), went back to C.W. for the 125th, missed the S.A.W. in '98 but did W.W.ll for a number of years.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
Regards to all. R.J.Gray
P.S. I am in favor of a forum to discuss Black Powder as was suggested by another member. R. Gray (s.o.h. 1898)
I'm comming over from CSP to try out the waters. I'm a Garand collector and am here to continue to obtain knowledge on Garands...hope to see some of the old experts.
New member and just want to say Hi. Just wondering if anyone knows how many (Lee Enfields) L39A1's were made and how much are they going for.
Hi Everyone,
My user name of "Country Gent" was chosen with tongue in cheek. I do live in the Fingerlakes area of NYS and I try to be a gentleman, but there the similarity ends. I live in a modest ranch home - not a country manor.
Have been an avid CSP fan, but never joined or posted before. Have a small collection of rifles, but a big interest in everyones input on this web page.
Hey guys! j-man checking in. Generally into Canadian-issue blasters and love the Enfields. Great to have another resource available and look forward to learning a few things!
:D
Hi to all

My collection is vaired, but my main interest is the M-1 carbine witch I have collected for several years. I am a member of the NRA and the Ohio Gun Collectors Assn. I look forward to learning from all of you! Thanks, Vette.
Hello the forums, I drifted over after the demise of Jouster.com . I'm just a guy, who shoots some, rides and wrenches on his old bike some, stays busy with life, etc. There seems to be a LOT to read here!
Tommy

Hello, I am glad to have another site to go to after the close of the CSP. I enjoy both garands and carbines along with the black rifles.
Hello everyone,
My name is John and I live in Victoria, British Columbia on Vancouver Island, Canada.
I found your site just recently after I became an accidental South American milsurp collector. I've been lurking and getting lots of good info from the folks here, so I decided I might as well join in.
I recently purchased an 1891 Argentine rifle from my local gunsmiths shop after admiring this beautiful rifle for months. I'd never seen anything like it. My avatar is a picture of it.
As I was leaving he said he had an old Peruvian carbine that was sitting around and I could have it cheap. So next payday I bought it too.
Like I said, it looks like I'm collecting south american mausers.:)
Hi folks, directly from CSP. happily retired and US martial holster nut.
Long time shooter, reloader. Former military (over 10 years AD). Can be found on LongRange.com, Accurateshooter, snipershide ...etc. visited CSP alot and bought quite often. Had to sign on here just to READ or search for info ~sigh~
