Hello everyone. Collector for 40+ years but always trying to learn from people like the ones we find here. Thanks.
Hello everyone! I have collected WWII US, German and am recently getting into the Japanese firearms for about 20 years. I was fairly active on the old boards buying, selling and trading.
Hello all, first time user here and glad to be aboard. I am a Garand addict and have suffered from Garanditis for many years but i do endulge in other vices :beerchug:including pistols, shotguns and varmint rifles on occasion.
Howdy,
Like most of you, I miss the old CSP website. I am glad that Military Surplus Collectors have offered their assistance. I am still trying to find my way around on the new website.
New member here. Spent more than a couple of years on the CSP forum. Regret its passing but willing to learn the new format of this technoforum. Hope this forum will be as informative and classy as the Culver's jouster. Beach
Hi guys ! I am a 25 year veteran still on active duty. I am currently at Walter Reed Army Medical Center getting treatment for injuries sustained on my 5th
tour to Iraq. I am very much into collecting and shooting the garand, carbine, M17 and the 1903/1903A3 weapons.
hello
Looking foreward to this. I've been collecting service rifles for 15 years.
Hi to everyone. I guess this is a test to see if I can figure out how to post to this forum. I have 3 Springfields, an FR8, M1 carbine and a 1911. 2 of the Springfields are in the rebuild stage. 1 (1903A3) is getting a new (1944) barrel and the other (1903A1) is getting restocked with a CMP stock. I'm primarily a shooter rather than a collector. I'll be asking alot of questions as I'm not a professional gunsmith.
Hi guys,
My link to the CSP website brought me here.
Have to do some searching and check it all out.
Hope it a good site.

Hello All,
New to this site but have hung arround CSP for many years, learning a lot about our Garands and more. Hope the knowledge, and info is as abundant here as it was there - New Ideas - New Findings - I'm sure it will be another adventure.
You all have a great weekend.

For the past years, I have been trying to collect an early example of every rifle (no full autos) officially used by the US Military starting with the 1873 Springfield (metalic cartridge) and ending with the M16/AR15. I have a suspicion that there are a bunch of weapons (probably from the Navy, Marines, CoastGuard and AirForce) that I have never heard of. So now my question is does a simple list of these rifles exist. If so can anyone help me find it so I can continue my purchases when I have the money - and research when I don't. It seems I do a lot of research.
Ok I made it from Jouster. This board wants me to post a message so here it is.

New member but have been a lurker since I got a computer last year.Like the format, easier for old eyes to follow.General collector with an interest in U.S. and British military and have been an accumulater of such for 40 odd years. The information available on the net is amazing and a lot cheaper than buying the books on specialty subjects, but I haven't given that up as yet. So,hello to all.
Thanks for the new board and all the information this forum will supply to collectors.
Sincerely, pigpen
My old handle on CSP was Trenchfoot.
The place looks great, and I see a lot of names I recognize. Looking forward to learning and listening, occasionally posting!

Hello everyone. My brother and I have about 50 collectables and hunting firearms. We are looking to add a few more and sell or trade a few. The expertise offered here is most valuable. I hope to offer any help I can to others on the forums.
Hello everyone, just want to say that "I broke on thru to the other side" and as always await the very interesting comments and insights that you very knowledgeable people offer. Thanks again, James Eichas of NY, aka "mr97"
Just wanted to say hi. Just became a new member of this site. I have been/was a member of the CSP for several years. I am retired Army MSG. I collect WWII US and German weapons and accessories. I am especially interested in M-1's.
Hi everybody. Used to read the old CSP/Jouster sight. Latest fling - riflewise - has been with long barreled Swedish types: M96 and a CG 63 on layaway:) I just love the bark of that 6.5 x 55. This place looks nice and will be a nice resource once everyone gets "moved in". Also shoot service rifle and Garands/03 Springfields/K-31's . . .
Came over from CSP. New board is pretty nice!

Hello to everyone, I'm a new member from Ontario
I'm Chris (noworky) people from the CSP forum know me from the Garand, 03,blades and Krag forums. I'm looking forward to reading old friends post and make some new friends. I frequent the Military Collectors Forum and the Military Horse Forum. My major intrest in collecting and history is almost entirely focused on the U.S. Cavalry from the Civil War to the end in the early 40s. I have a fairly nice small collection of just about anything to do with the Horse Cavalry. After I get use to navigating the site I'll post some pictures and look forward to learning and sharing.
Hello this is my first post so lets see how it works. I was a member of Jouster.

Hey All!
Clicked on my Culver's link and your site came up. I've been at the Internet for years and have never noticed this site....but it looks like a good one! :dancingbanana: Now it'll take me a while to figure out all the stuff here but hopefully if it is like other gun sites, there will be boatloads of help as well as a wealth of knowledge. I just have to figure out how it all works!
Been a shooter since I was 3 1/2 (Grandpa always insisted on early education) shooting pellet rifles in his basement. Got my first .22 on my 5th Christmas (Thanks, Grandpa!)
Being a hunter and shooter since a tender young age, it goes that I'd end up a collector, too. I've been a member of the Minnesota Weapons Collectors for over 30 years (early years on and off as I could afford it) my family are all Life NRA members, I teach Firearms Safety for the Minnesota DNR (Volunteer) and am a Certified NRA Instructor (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, RSO) as well as a Boy Scout Shooting Merit Badge Counselor.
I also belong to the Thompson Collectors Association (Ooooh! A postal worker with machineguns!). Yep! Just another phase of the hobby!
I really have no idea exactly how many guns I own as the total keeps changing, but usually upwards....
Main projects right now are M1 Carbines (own 4 so far and am "correcting" and cleaning them up with my 19 year old son). Also have 2 Garands and shoot locally in gas gun matches.
Reload over 20 calibers as well as hunting for anything that will get me outdoors for a couple days, Love to fish, shoot prairie Dogs, Travel (so I can hit gun shows in other states, according to my Wife!)
Member of many other forums as either postal or John (real name) for as many years as I've had a computer (1994?).
I 'spose that's enough for now, but again, HELLO to all the folks on this board....you'll see me around!
john
I came over from the Jouster Site. I collect and shoot Garands.

Tought I lost my mind when I got here... I know it was only last week I checked that jouster page. Long time CSP member, garand shooter, and enfield shooter. It may take a while to get used to the new site but I'm glad all the old regulars are here.
Just signed up today as a new member. My interest at the moment lies in collecting the various British Lee Enfield rifles . I am looking to purchase a #5 rifle ( Jungle Carbine ) as my next project.
Hi, I collect WWII Italian (Carcano rifles & Beretta pistols) also German occupation weapons, holsters, cartridges. Some Finnish, British, U.S. and Japanese.

I'm a new member having migrated from Jouster. I collect US military weapons and have done so for 20 years. I am a believer in CMP and have supported them for years.
Hello, I am a new member here but a long time lurker on CSP and CMP.
Hello all. I am new to this forum. I have a Long Branch No. 4 Mk 1 that I am interested in learning about.
Hello all, new here, I just migrated from the CSP where I was an active reader all along, I own (family heirloom) a M1 carbine Saginaw SG air delivered to brittany by the OSS or SOE during the winter 1943/44, hence my interest in the carbine forum. I have been shooting and collecting firearms for 40 years.
Hello All,
New to the group as of today. Used to read the posts on the old site when I was looking up reference material or needed questions answered.
I primarily shoot the CMP matches and I reload my own. I also participate in the NRA matches. All this is done locally (Michigan). Have yet to make the Hajj to Camp Perry and compete but my day will come.
Have recently become very interested in refurbishing some of my older more seasoned rifles. Will most likely be asking for your input from time to time and hope that I don't sound too... well you know.
:wave:Well I have migrated here from former CSP Gun Talk forums. I know with the wealth of knowledge I'll get some great pointers for my collection. Have main interest in collecting US and foreign small arms. Planning on making a run to CMP this weekend on the 14th because the South store will be closed from the 15-31 of March. Regards JB
Hello everyone,
I'm from Mpls. Mn and found this forum while searching the internet for info on firearms.

Hello to all old and new,
I am a Garand Collector and retired old guy who likes to putter around with old military guns, mine and anyone else who trusts me with their rifles.
Recently I am looking at a Remington Mod 1917 which appears in extremely good shape, it has a Cartouche I am not familiar with (SSAA) on the left side stock just below the rear of the receiver I am sure everyone else has seen this but it is the first for me, It probably is a rebuild stamp of some sort, anyone know?
I'm glad that this web site did not fold!:super:
Thanks

Hello to all Forum Members ---
I like anything to do with WWII weapons and gear. I have a real problem with "lack of focus". So, I've gotten into M1 Carbines, M 1 Garands,Lugers, P-38's, K 98's, etc. etc, ad nausium. So you can see what I mean by "lack of focus".
I also like BMW motorcycles...
I need professional help!!:dancingbanana:
