New member introductions thread ......

Hi guys!

I'm RonJon and I have been a member @ CSP for about 10 years. I just registered here after looking to get onto the CSP (I haven't been on for a few weeks) and am very sorry to hear of the Culver's bad luck of late.

I originally joined CSP to learn about the M1 Garand, and between my son and I we now have 17 of 'em (5 of which we built up from CMP receivers and the parts kits that used to be available from Danish M1s that were stripped of the receivers in Canada and sold to US distributors since the receivers could not be imported - Now I don't think even the parts kits can be imported anymore! :thdown: ). The other 12 were all bought from CMP in completed condition.

Since then, I have greatly expanded my interest in gun collecting and between my son and I we enjoy well over 200 rifles and handguns in our joint collection! (Got some of almost everything except class III).

I am on many of the other gun boards and use the same name (unless someone else got it first - then it's as close as possible, and I always use the same Avatar so you can tell that it's me (BTW - The Avatar was a scan I made from a magazine picture years ago - It shows a guy wearing a sweater, but the face is a superimposed man's chest. This I thought would be a good avatar that retains my desired anonymity.)

hi everyone, just call me "sea" short for seagoatami, (Its a long story) I dont know if your familiar with the story of mr. toad (winds in the willows) Its a story about a cartoon character called mr toad, my wife says thats me. with guns. you will have to sit down with your kids and watch it some day to understand if your not familiar. My latest passion is Enfield riflesw so far I have 2 of them but I have my eye on a 3rd, Im retired been retired for 12 yrs now I own about 30 various guns and love them all. Im not rich,but just last year my mom died and left me some money ...sooooooo, I'm enjoying it .as she would have me do. wife doesnt like it but I buy her a little this and that to keep her happy. and so far it seems to be working ,well I want to read some of the forums so I will stop here , nice to be with you all, sea

I just retired and started collecting again after 30+ years. Sold off my collection years ago to put my wife through grad school. Now have time and am looking for a 1903 Springfield Barrel (Very Good or better). Looking forward to enjoying the forums.

Migration from CSP. Good to see the CSP site picked up. As for my interests, well, like most, that can change daily, sometimes quicker. Generally, I stick with US pieces. CMP member. Don't have a lot of knowledge, but a number of good friends who help me along the way.

Wanted to introduce myself and say "hi."

I have been interested in mil-surp for many years. One of my first was my DCM Garand. It was a SA and sits next to my CMP H&R. I have three Carbines. My first Carbine was an IBM "Bavarian" and the other two are Postal Meters. I also have a 1903 SA and one 1903-A3 Remington. I have two sporterized 1903s (one of them is a Smith Corona.) I also picked up a H&R Reising M60 though, I'm not sure that qualifies as Mil-surp in the strictest sense.

Recently my nephew has got me into collecting Finnish Nagants. I currently have two M27s and one M91/30.

The last Mil-surp I bought has been my first Enfield. It is a No4 Mk2 and from what I read was some of the last Enfields produced.

I got my C&R late last year just in time to run out of money.

Hey, checking in. Was told I could get some information about rebarreling my M1 garand here. Been dealing with milsurps for about 4 or 5 years now and look forward to getting to know even more about them.
