1941 Receiver, C85288. Matching Bolt. Barrel 32321 dated 3-40 . Beautiful Coachwood furniture . R MA 2/47.
Homer, I'll pull it out and verify when I get home but I think it just has "43" stamped on the stock.
Homer it just has a "1943" stamped on stock.
1942 Lithgow SMLE, C74207 on nose, barrel, bolt and receiver. FTR stamp above receiver serial number and MA/54 stamped under safety screw. Barrel date 11/53. Very few stamps on wood, SLAZ 52 on all wood parts and a few misc single letters here and there.
Cadet rifle I assume since it has a 1.5" wide green band on the buttstock. Also has two painted red dots about 1.5" diameter on the RH (bolt handle) side, one behind the green stripe and one on the front. Not sure why red and green on the same rifle, headspace is fine and very little wear on the bore and rifle overall.
Hi Muffet, another for you
Lithgow 1941
1941 barrel
Serial number B63312
All matching serials, including forestock
MA41 on absolutely everything except the nose cap an trigger guard, which are MA marked anyway (not a BA/WA/OA in sight
Few dings etc (lloks like it saw a war or something). Everything perfect except a recrowning job, which i dont understand given how complete this rifle is.
Still has its MA41 magazine cutoff plate
What month on that barrel date? june?
