Just a few days older than I am :) . Thanks for checking! Usually I would say no chance it would sell in the estimated range, but with Rock Island Auction you never know ..
You're welcome Georg, always happy to help.
I bid on 00248F today and it quickly escalated past the point where I felt comfortable paying for it. I think the final bid was $9500. I really wanted it but not that badly. I'm a little depressed now.:ugh:
I thought it would go for about $6k-$7k. I bid up to $6500 if I remember correctly. I was disappointed but with the buyers premium and tax the final price was well over $10,000. There are so many high priced guns that sell in their auctions that $10,000 doesn't seem like much in comparison. You get a little numb to just how high the numbers are.
There's one for sale currently, in the UK for £14,500.
The one in the UK originally went on the market for 2k more than current asking price- has some very nice memorabilia with it- brochure is different to the one in my collection, would love to get my hands on that and the parts catalogue.
