So mine is simply an 1891 carbine?
Yours appears to be a "Cavalry carbine".
The 1891 Argentine "Engineers''s carbine" looks like this

There was no conventional stocked 1891 carbine AFAIK...both of the '91's had the full length stock.
The apparent arsenal repairs on the stock of mine seem to indicate it was configured lik the one in the link at some point. I learn somthing new each time I visit. Thanks
Let us know when your "package" is delivered by santa in a brown suit.
I would have paid $160 for that one. Liberty Tree has some interesting stuff.
I'll post better pics, description and a range report when it arrives.
The Liberty Tree auction rifle was missing the bolt.
Hoping the guy with the 1891 Argie engineers carbine is at the gun show tomorrow. Should have bought it last weekend. It'll be coming home with me if its still there!
I fall off the wagon about once a month.
Here are the 1891 cavalry and engineer's carbine side by side.https://www.milsurps.com/images/impo.../12/sfka-1.jpghttps://www.milsurps.com/images/impo.../12/1p1u-1.jpghttps://www.milsurps.com/images/impo.../12/c6lf-1.jpg
I recently read a post lamenting the fact? that the engineer's carbine had the "junk" (bayo lug and different swivels) added onto the sweet lines of the cavalry carbine.
I am happy to have them both, even though the cavalry carbine has been sanded/polished
