t3 sniper carbine

$150 a battery? I've been sitting on 4 cases of these for years and can not get rid of them. So, if anyone wants a deal I'll be glad to clean out my garage. Note: These are the later batteries. Apparantly the first scope used 6v batteries but these are the ones used on all subsequent models, the 20000 volt models. I got pics if you need to see them. Sorry to go on about these, but I am getting ready to ebay them and would rather one of you guys have them. P.S. - I offered these to the guy selling them for $149.50 and he did not even return an offer.

The real problem with the rewelded T3 on Gunsamerica is the front half is a Winchester T3 that has been completed with an Inland rear tang. Even though the serial number would have been in the wrong range, it would have been better to have been repaired with a Winchester rear tang.

In addition, although the M3 scope (Set no. 1, 20,000 volt) fits on the T3 and was certainly used with them, it is a later IR scope that was usually fitted to an M2 carbine with the adapter rail. So it isn't really the most desirable scope to mount on a T3, just the easiest to find. The more proper types are the earlier M2 scopes (from either the 1945 or 1950 production runs) or the earliest T120/M1 scopes, which are much scarcer than the T3carbines themselves.

Seriously, and asking sincerely -

This example seems like it would have little to no collector value at all other than the sum of the few possibly valuable parts that may or may not be complete. Isn't it only a collection of parts or worse?

A 1903A3 can be made to look like a real 1903A4 sniper rifle, but it's only worth the value of the parts that are authentic and not ruined. The original 1903A3 would be worth very little after drilling the receiver and any value would be to the person who was happy to have a collection of parts. Just a representative example such as an M1A1 with an aftermarket stock.

I know someone spent a lot of money putting this thing together, but I don't see any desirability at all.
