Negative! The lower (shorter) No 4 to No 5 converted fore-end is from BDL and they maintain that it´s ex-WD.

Wouldn´t it be better when converting a No. 4 fore-end to fit a short plug into the lightening groove to re-inforce the cut for the fore-end band?

Glad to hear that the shorter No. 4/5 fore-end conversions are NOT original. Never liked the look of them. (So now I´ve gotta spare .... short ... No. 5 fore-end).
