My girlfriend was out in the front yard one evening(I wasn't there)and a coyote came tearing across and grabbed up the chirwahwa(sp). She yelled,"drop that dog"! And the coyote did just that.

Strange dogs. In Germany we say " Kampfratte" is like combat rat.
Living in the woods, I have deer and turkey in the yard all the time, and the occasional black bear. We have coons that come up on the wrap-around porch and sit looking through the dining room french doors at my wife as she sits on the counch and knits.
Live where there is wildlife, and you will see all sorts of sights -- I've even seen a bald eagle perched in a tree overlooking my pasture.
I'll ask Gerry if his wife will share the recipie as it was very good, but I may go up to the cabin for a few days and it maybe a few a days to post even if she shares.

John,
You got right it depends on the way you use it. Your description on this "dog" is very good.
