For the record - ALL the positions at Milsurps are unpaid ;) It's a volunteer moderation group.
For the record I know it is an unpaid position, I was offered a position as a moderator by Badger a few years back when I donated all the books and manuals to this site.
I turned the moderator position down because of my Attala the Hun/feuding Scottish Clansman diplomatic training.
I would like to also add that no one has ever been stabbed with a sword, beheaded, clubbed or killed in any of my postings. :bash:
Are any moderator positions still open or is that (expletive deleted) Amatikulu still on call up as the backup moderator. :slap:

I'm not sure if any mod positions are open or not - you'd have to ask badger ;)
We still have a ton of forums here to moderate, even with CSP spun off on its own, so I rather suspect we don't need to lower the number of mods - maybe we need to increase them??? Hard to say, but traffic on the site has steadily climbed since we opened up a few years ago and many of us are stretching the bounds of what can be expected of unpaid volunteers trying to keep this rather large site operating smoothly.
Quite frankly, unless you post obviously inappropriate vitriol or engage in character assassinations against other members, you'd probably never notice the moderation here unless a mod moves a post that accidentally got posted in the wrong forum (e.g. an M1 post in the Enfield forum, etc.) or double-tapped a post and the duplicate gets nuked. I'll bet that more than 95% of our users/members have never seen mods do anything other than contribute to posts they find interesting.
Another point of interest is that the CSP sub-forum was always moderated by legacy CSP members. The core site moderation team from milsurps.com did not go treading over there and moderating posts.
I find it really odd how the fact that this site is owned and operated by Canadians was/is used as an expletive by upset CSP political forumers and 2nd ammendment forum members over on the new site. The truth is that aside from doing tech support and paying the bills, the CSP sub-forum was entirely run, moderated and invigilated by Americans who were long-time CSP folks. Not a single Canadian, which I suspect would come as a surprise to many.
In any event, the move was entirely voluntary on the part of the Culvers and they were not turfed out despite rumors to the contrary. In the long run, I think it will prove to be the right thing for both websites and that most folks will happily remain and contribute to both venues in good spirit.
The Washington Nationals base ball team is also totally run, modulated and invigorated by Americans……:D (But we had to change the teams name for some reason)
