I have four grandsons and i have built two legacy rifles for them, so far only two completed one is a gew98 converted to 3006 timney, glass bedded, shilen barrel, nice custom stock, and rebuilt (real pretty) weaver scope from late fifties but one of the nicest add on was a gentry 3 position safety from brownells,
turned down bolt, (added some length to it) and a matte finish (polished then bead blasted, turns out quite nice)
2nd one quite a bit different, manlicher style with birdseye maple stock, really stands out it is shilen 308 with a typical sight from 30-40s staged ramps for 100 and 200 yards, express, it also has turned down bolt and timney trigger and of course the 3 position gentry...
rifle #3 still in its original form 1939 Kar 98
rifle #4 still in its form as a action only 1.8mil serial number 03 with bolt........
so far none delivered, one grandson is old enough but has done nothing to deserve it....
thats my deal and i am stickin with it, got to stand above and beyond the crowd to get grandpas rifle
agree??
i am sick and tired of instead of making them learn but lower the standards
right or wrong
