When I go to aucitons and then to collectable long arms, and get the page, I can't open anything up by clicking on the item. IT isn't responding. :(
Yes! All good choices! Your CLLE, #98 is one of those rifles that although was converted to acccept charger clips, still retained it's original front sight. What does the disc say on the stock? #103 is also interesting and probably has the magazine with the "C" shaped platform spring. It also still retains the original swivel next to the magazine. Probably an early rifle. I also like no's 96, 99 especially, and 101. No 101 has the later butt stock and so I'm wondering if it also has no provision for a rod under the forarm possibly being a Mk I*...I'll look it up again to read on it. Nice rifles! I wish I'd been at the auction too. I saw the rifles with the shortened barrels you'd mentioned.
:D Congrats on your purchases Sprog. I am happy that these rifles are going to a good home. The only problem I sometimes have is when overseas buyers bid against me as most of the time their currency is stronger and they basically get the firearms for a steal. I am quite fortunate as I have most of what I want to collect and at times also got some guns for a steal.
A .22 Webley Mk4 revolver for ZAR250 = USD35
A 1918 BSA No1 Mk111* for ZAR 550 = USD 80
A M1 30 carbine for ZAR1100 = USD 160
That was when the authorities brought out the new firearm act here.
