A word of caution here, do not use an importer to bring in a firearm from Canada, they have to, by law, stamp their name in the metal. Anyone with a FFL can bring in an occasional firearm and the process is not very complicated. I believe that all it takes is a ATF form 6.

Thanks, Gents, for your comments and advice. I may just take it to Bud Haynes Auctions (Auction House for Antiques, Collectables and Guns - Bud Haynes Auction Company) in Red Deer, AB or consign it thru Milarm (MilArm Co. Ltd :: Edmonton, Alberta) in Edmonton, AB.
In the mean time, are there any on-line guidelines for grading of firearms such as the one I have?
Back on 1 september I put up a post about an NRA Sporter at Griffin and Howe's Bernardsville, NJ location. I guess it sold as i didn't see it on their website the other day.
If I recall they had about $4600. on it and it was in (IMO) excellent condition,
The s/n was in the 1,3nn,nnn range but I didn't record the whole thing.
Regards,
Jim
