Enfield No.32 Sniper scope on Scambay £1545 !!

I have been trying to buy a
m1 Carbine Parastock from the States for a few weeks now (yes there are other rifles apart from lee's) same old situation USA postal will not ship ANY gun parts now, even a wooden stock. Vendors all seem to not run the risk of putting "wooden parts" on the box. Yet how come i get parts from "several gun parts dealers " with out to much hassle ? ? Only issue is they all dont/
wont send more than $100 worth of bits, due to their new laws?? Again i cant get a stock !! Any one got one?? Ebay.com has a ton of "gun parts" but its staying in the USA !

Back to the telescope saga. Has anyone any idea what one of the modern repro Mk2's is valued at?

Right on the money Alan, for all the (legitimate) complaints about e and pp, the access to a wide range of items has done a lot to develop interest in history and historic memorabilia, not just gun restoration but many other things such as uniforms and accoutrements.
I'd be quite happy to avoid E as well, I'm with Brian Dick who commented here a few days ago about feeding the hand that bites you, but whats the alternative?
A very frustrating part of this is that so many USA sellers of anything won't ship outside the US. For a country/world in recession I'm completely baffled that anyone can afford to turn away a customer with cash. I'm not talking gun/parts, but simple stuff like books, text books for kids etc. That gets a big fat Huh? from me.

I wonder if our vendor has noticed that the anti-rotation peg is missing? If anyone wants to fit it into a No32 bracket it will be prone to cant without one. (It's actually just a 4BA grub screw. I've turned down the heads on many a cheeseheaded 4BA screw to make a perfect replacement, but at current prices I guess I ought to ask at least a hundred quid!).

Further to Rogers note. The anti rotation screw is simple to replace if it's been unscrewed out, but a bit of a sod if it's been cut-off square. That's because you cannot get a drill onto the old cut-off screw past the erector cell collar and ocular housing. I have an 8" long drill that goes down a curved steel tube that..... anyway, it's a bit of a sod!

As for those that won't send innocent/lawful parts abroad, then I say just find someone that WILL and get the parts sent there, innocently re-packed and on their way. That's what I did with some AN-PVS2 parts. And we're talking just the rubber protective eye and OG end caps here!

Went for £1250 it seems.

I don't know about small and less expensive items but one of the reasons that folks in the US, including myself won't mail expensive items out of the country is when I sold on eBay, Some, if not most, of the out of the country bidders wanted you to mark the invoice price of the item a lot less then what it sold for and to name it some non collectable item to avoid their countries customs fees. Which then means you can't insure it for full price. If the item gets lost you're out the money. Also it's hard to bring claims for bad deals out of the country, Ray

This thread has certainly opened up a very good and thought provoking discussion. Maybe more forumers could add comments. Agree or disagree with about 'that' site or the general discussion.............

But I feel that the introduction of repro scopes will bring the prices down to earth a bit. I certainly feel in my bones that it'll nobble the value of No42/53's

Crikey, he must have heard us talking because as we spoke, it was withdrawn and sold at £1250..............
