Looking at the hammer plungers on both assemblies, BOTH have WINGS. One has very large "wings" and unlike any I have seen. These wings are so large that they contact the housing when the hammer is down. While contacting the housing, the tension is taken off the hammer and therefore the hammer is loose. I realize the housing with the "loose" hammer is not the one that is not allowing the bolt to open, but this hammer plunger doesn't look like it will even hit the firing pin. Where did you get these trigger groups?

There is a notch that the larger wings go into. And yes it did hit the firing pin. I switched the plungers between the two mechanisms and I can open the bolt now but it requires a quick strong pull. I got the mechanisms from my wifes side of the family. Her great grandfather was Carbine williams (designer of the M1 carbine). So im 100% sure that they are real seeing as how he worked for winchester and during his liftime they werent making repro's and if they were it wasnt many.

Watched the video and looked at the pictures - something is wrong with your plunger assy. In the loose one the wings appear to impact the housing. Given the similarity of the other plunger assy I would check the plunger and spring to see if they are standard parts, home made,repro or expermental
