I'm thinking the wood itself maybe real Charlie. I have seen those two circular routing marks beside the IO in the channel on real ones. Leather and rivets could be right. Not sure. Looks sanded, and folder doesn't look the same colour as others I have seen. Stock mark indicates that it has been thru Augusta. Check with wtmr. He is an expert on the joint between the handgrip and stock ( The M1's chopped to M1A1's). Cheers. Mike.
Someone liked it enough to pay $1,136.60 plus shipping for it.

Crazy biding. Must have gotten their tax refund already.
Guess it's time to list some stuff on ebay.
Well, I got this Type II highwood Inland stock with a crack in the oiler/butt plate area... I was brought back from Pusan after President Truman used it to whack MacAurther in the ***... swear that my great uncle's third cousin (twice removed) saw it happened and picked it up off the ground after Truman dropped it... Oh, and its got a proper cartouche from my great uncle's third cousin who lives in California.... Starting bid is $1,500 and I ain't telling you want the reserve is on it.... Oh, cash or money orders only, no returns, as is, I'll ship it within 30 days after you make payment and no pictures.... :slap:
Is that a good listing???
I don't think that was a bad price concidering I've seen beat up and cracked ones go for over $1,500. And look at the price the "perfect" ones are getting. Anyway it's to each his own,If you want it and can afford the price, buy it. MHO .02 GK
