That stock was cracked very badly on the right side and has what looks to be an armorers repair. I'm a bit fussy about that sort of thing. Especially if I'm looking for a decent shooter. That crack/repair, just may cause all kinds of little devils to inhabit that rifle.
For $900, I would have to want it pretty bad. IMHO, I would pass on it. Mind you, they don't come along every day either, so you decide what you really want.

Here is the enfield that i want for 900.00
where is the crack and pepair?
The nosecap has been scrubbed and renumbered (not original). How does the bolt look to the gentleman here more experienced than me?
Still a nice looking rifle.
do you mean that the bolt has been scrubbed to?
The bolt looks good to me, same font, etc. The stamping is very crisp compared to the wear visible on the barrel/receiver. I am waiting for the true experts to weigh in.
thanks, everyone has been a huge help. hope to get some more replys to help me.
The bolt may be crisp but I think you should look closley and you will see the trace of previous numbers. I have been present when a local gunsmith "made" a matching bolt. And that's what they look like.
do you think it was done by an armorer because the font is the same as in the reciever
