I'm not old.
Gents I'm not pulling info out of my butt. I took the info from Canfield's book and he says QHMC 1555000-1562519, 1562520-1662519,1675040-1907519,1907520-1937519,4432100-4532099,4632100-4879525 or table 22 in the back of the book. Are you telling me his book is wrong? Has anyone told him that?
No problem BAR. I'm sure he knows but it may be publisher thing. Even old George had his SN list on the infamous Riverbank site.

Gee thanks TR! I may not be THE one but I was one of the ones :)
Well, the old aluminum foil and dental floss trick worked!!! The receiver is marked SAGINAW S.G... Do any of you have any idea what the history of this gun is and a value. I was told it was an Underwood , but they were mistaken. It has the adjustable rear sight and a flat bolt. The stock has a mark in the strap cutout that looks like 10 ... Any idea's anyone. Thanks,

It's an Inland stock. The I is not the numeral one, it's the letter I. Is it an I cut highwood, an oval cut high wood, or an oval cut low wood stock?
Judging from the serial number you posted and the fact it has an Underwood barrel, I'd say you have a Saginaw S'G' carbine. The first Irwin-Pederson/S'G' serial number range ran from 1,762,520 to 1,875,039. I'm guessing the barrel is dated 8-43 or 9-43?
Hope this helps . . .
PS Sorry for the redundancy, I thought I was the 3rd poster! :red face: Am I close on the barrel date?
