The kid's dad is a close friend of mine and he wants the rifle back ASAP. He told me to give you $110 for it to compensate for your trouble and I'll pick it up from you tomorrow so I can return it to him. ;)

Sweet deal! I wish I could come across something like that! At that price I'd just bide my time and keep an eye out for parts to see what you find, and it will be a fun project.

Even if only finished out as a WWI rebuild; with that low SN it will be a very neat addition to have in any 1903 collection. Sometimes searching for parts; especially if they don't need to be necessarily need to be in great functional condition and just for show can be fun in itself. Good 'snag!'

I, for one, would really enjoy viewing more pics of your four-digit rifles (whatever the level of restoration they've received)!

The four digit rifles are complete to the WW1 or pre WW1 time period but do not have photos of all the rifles

What are the barrel ID's & Dates on those. Did you replace the barrels on any as part of your restorations. If so which ones.

Attachment 22911The SA s/n 4918 had a SA 05 with A under the date, barrel was burned-out with years of shooting blanks replaced with a early 1918 Rock Island barrel for now.

Rock Island s/n 3576 has a SA 1910 barrel with a single bolt CN 1908 stock, very faint cartouche and a very early RIA bolt

Photo shows Rock Island s/n 64145 with RIA 3-07 bbl on top and s/n 3576 below

RIA s/n 3670 had a SA 1916 barrel and SA DAL stock
