Guys who reload, please try 100gr Plinkers by Speer(I think). I use the same power charge as 110gr. A cheaper buller and alittle faster being lighter. I even load them in 30-06 with a light load. Fun to shoot.

I use R_P 110 FMJ (1950 fps) from wally World for $24 a box, and use R-P 110 JSP for serious work (Killed a nice deer with it). IT prints to the same point of aim. I also use WCC white box, and it is good. I had poor results with Aguilla, as it is 150 fps slow, and shoots low, Had FTEs with a new recoil spring. The problems with steel Russian ammo are several: In does not like to feed from 30 round magazines, it shoots to a way differrent POI and is not nearly as accurate as the RP.
Many moons ago I purchased several thousand 110 gr. FMJ surplus (I think they are IMI). Will keep me in projectiles for the foreseeable future.Quote:

My advice in reloading is to check that case length. Nothing sucks more than a round that stops short of battery because the case is too long. Also, don't over crimp. (use a taper crimp die)

For some strange reason, I anticipated this component situation years ago and bought big bags of carbine brass off Ebay. Honestly, with the carbine I do not track number of reloads. I judge a case life by how much I have to trim. If I don't trim, the case should last indefinitely at the pressure levels of the carbine. Not so 30-06 and 5.56. But I have large amounts of brass for those as well. 5.56 cases always fail at the neck which is convenient. I make ammunition for the carbine that is loaded to about 90% GI velocity, which I do to ease the wear and tear on the carbine. The cost is ? I figure under $10 a box as I bought primers at $12/1000 and bulk powder. Using Remington bulk FMJ it is accurate ammo. attached is my NPM , SR1 at 100 yds.

I only use reloads too! 110grs Hornady or PRVI bullets with Hodgdon H110 and they make my day!
Found my ammo for my .30M1Carbine
I've had good luck with Georgia Arms "new" loads, and I reload my own with good results. Keep the cases trimmed; they stretch a lot. I like 110gr ball and 14.8gr Win 296 over a CCI military primer.
bought 1000 rds of aguila for 16.50 box of 50. not happy have some fte.pmc works great.i should reload, sold all my reload press,s about 10 years ago hate to start all over.
You might want to consider reloading again. Then you can make the loads as you wish. With in safe targets of course.
I have a Dillion progressive. Pretty darn easy. Depending on what and how much you shoot, it will pay for itself pretty quick. Plus they have a great warrenty.
