Paul he COULD be that...but i think he is wearing thick white woolen socks and US Overboots (Galoshes) with the over centre metal snap closures...he is definatley one "individual" amongst standard M43 uniform equipped troopers....this could be as the 17th was trucked into action and didnt jump into the Ardennes US counter offensive.
